If you are an artist trying to make money in this cruel world of ours, I recommend you read this, and subsequently direct all disrespectful asshats to it the next time someone wants your services but doesn't want to pay you fairly for them.

Trying to scratch out some sort of a living on Guru.com, a website that hosts project listings intended for freelancers (artists, writers, etc), has taught me that there are farrrrrrrr too many people out there that just don't understand the value of an artist's services. For instance: one employer has posted at least twice on Guru looking for an artist to do well over a hundred black and white coloring book illustrations for $70US...less than a DOLLAR per illustration! I don't know about you, but I certainly don't adhere to sweatshop-esque working conditions. Maybe it's ignorance, maybe it's malice, but either way, anybody who wants to pay an artist a paltry sum in exchange for quality/professional work needs to read that article.

It's that oh-so-nostalgic time of year again, when my senses are tickled by wafts of mulled cider and candy canes, visions of red and green. The holiday season gives me such a delicious feeling of warmth and home.

Unfortunately, this year's holiday season is already proving difficult for me! I found fraudulent charges on my one and only debit/credit card a couple of days ago, so right now I am without card and without access to internet goodies (my goodies of choice)! I fear my ability to find decent gifts without the intertron is rather limited. XD Secondly, since my boyfriend's family and mine live so far apart, we're spending Christmas separately, and of course that is omgsad!

Anyway, I always seem to have some spark of creativity around Christmastime, so perhaps my gallery will soon have a touch of the holidays! If not, I look forward to seeing all your lovely holiday-inspired art, whatever holiday you celebrate.

Ame: Old enough.

Ame: Oh, you can bet I'll be around for a good long time. I have too many things to do!
Ikomi: *shrug* Death comes to us all. I will die when my body can no longer live.
Peach: Oh, let's not think of such things. Here, have a cupcake!

Ame: Kinda sad that I'm the tallest one here. *chuckle*
Ikomi: The height of my body matters only where the measurements of my bow and spear are involved.
Peach: *whizzes a hand above her head* I suppose I am quite short!

Ame: Oh, this and that. I sell little things out of my shop, canned veggies and potholders, candies, just some things that I can make. There's not much money in it, but the people that I meet make up for that. ^_^
Ikomi: I am an Acolyte of the Spring Temple. I care for the children, and study to be a priestess.
Peach: I have a shop toooo. It's a bakery, I sell lots of yummy things!

Ame: Purple!

Peach: Maybe it's silly, but I really am fond of peach. *blush*

Ame: If it's got bacon, it's on my happy list!
Ikomi: *ponders* Well, I do like the sweet corncakes at festivals....
Peach: Cream puffs! Ever since I was a girl they have been my favorite food. If not for cream puffs, I would not be a baker.

Ame: Butter pecan...rich and creamy, and just a little nutty.

Ame: Don't mind her, she's not from around here.
Peach: Vanilla goes well with many baked goods, don't you think? I like a scoop with pie, sometimes.

Ame: Never!
Ikomi: I would never take the life of another person, it would break our most sacred laws.
Peach: Of course not.
